How’s the fishin’? Pass the whiskey.
Been a while since I’ve sat down and put the fingers to the ole keypad…we have been busy busy here at The Whiskey Barn what with the expansion and summer rapidly approaching (didn’t we just celebrate New Years?) we barely have time to stop and sip the whiskey–ok, ok that’s a lie we always make time for that. We have finally settled into our new space, worked through the kinks of operating two stills while mashing and barreling, and added some delightful new spirits to our product line–if you haven’t stopped in for a visit since the remodel you are missing out! We doubled the size of the distillery and added a new processing area and barrel room. Did I mention we also expanded the tasting room into the production area? Oh yea. You can sip a cocktail whilst gazing upon Isabelle, our pretty alembic Congnac still–she has an exotic and sultry beauty about her and has been making some damn fine brandy.
We are gearing up for Summer 2014 and top of the list is crafting the famous Whiskey Barn Cocktail Menu! This year I have decided to pass the creation of this beautiful beast of a menu on to you fine folks. Here’s how this all works:
- You cruise over to our FB page and like us https://www.facebook.com/glacierdistilling
- You get creative in the kitchen (fresh ingredients, syrups, or keep it simple–however you like to mix it up)
- Once you have crafted the most spectacular cocktail you head back to our FB page and add your recipe to a comment on our COCKTAIL CONTEST post
We will recreate your recipes and pick our favorite(s) to add to our Summer Cocktail Menu (you will also be showered lavishly with swag and prizes). This is a lovely excuse to spend an afternoon drinking whiskey all in the name of creative expression. You’re welcome. Contest ends Monday, May 26th.

Saturday, June 7th is our annual Moonshiner’s Ball at The Stonefly Lounge in Coram!! Shake your stuff to the boot scootin’ sounds of Moonshine Mountain, sample our newest whiskey release Fireweed Cherry Bourbon and grub out on some stuffed jalapeños and pulled pork sandwiches from Oso Catering. This year we decided to spice up the evening with an overalls fashion show–dress in your best, or worst, overalls and strut your stuff on stage for the chance to win a summer of free cocktails* at The Whiskey Barn.
Saturday, June 14th The Historic Belton Chalet is hosting a whiskey dinner, with a twist. Instead of a traditional cocktail pairing, Chef Melissa will be pairing four courses with different Glacier Distilling whiskeys and brandies served up straight or on the rocks. As we move through the menu you will have the option to choose one of the spirits to be crafted into a cocktail–a choose your own adventure of sorts. Father’s Day is Sunday the 15th and what better way to celebrate Dad than with local whiskey and fresh food? WHERE HAS OUR WHISKEY TAKEN YOU!?
We are adding a cork board to our tasting room decor and are hoping to adorn it with pictures of you getting out and getting after it! Send us your photos of folks enjoying our spirits in the great outdoors, or repping Glacier Distilling while shredding the gnar or slaying a trout. The Whiskey Barn will be open for tastings and cocktails Memorial Day weekend Saturday and Sunday noon-7pm and Monday noon-6pm.
