The Story: In 1895, under pressure from miners hoping to find copper and gold in the mountains along the continental divide, the US Federal Government pressed the Blackfeet into selling thousands of acres – land that would later become part of Glacier National Park. Despite feverish interest, no productive mine was ever dug. It was a fool’s gold. But we found our own treasure: yellow Rainier cherries growing on the shores of Flathead Lake, which we distilled and stored in old white wine barrels. The result is a golden hued brandy with light fruit flavors and a subtly sweet finish.
Tasting Notes: Gold Rush is a brandy distilled exclusively from Rainier cherries from the Lorang Orchard in Yellow Bay, MT and aged in French oak barrels. The golden yellow cherries give the spirit a bright fruity character with hints of apple and butterscotch. A strong spirit with delicate flavors that needs to be savored.
