Mint Julep
Crush ice (we use a canvas bag and wood mallet, the traditional way)
In a julep cup:
1 ½ oz. North Fork
3/4 oz. mint simple
Stir
Top with crushed ice
Add 4 drops aromatic bitters
Garnish with spanked mint
To make mint simple: In a pot, dissolve 2 ½ cups sugar with 2 ½ cups water. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat. Add 4 oz. fresh mint. Let steep for 30 minutes. Strain and cool for serving.
