We start by brewing coffee from hand-selected beans grown in Guatemala’s central highlands, chosen for their depth and complexity. This fresh brew is then blended with our house-distilled Hungry Horse rum, following a treasured local family recipe. The result is a layered, full-bodied liqueur marked by deep coffee notes, a gentle vanilla warmth, and the natural sweetness of rum.

Distillers Notes
Brewing a good cup of coffee is an art form in and of itself. Pour-over, cold brew, espresso—different techniques yield different flavor profiles, textures, acidity, and bitterness. We obsessed over the brewing process as much as we did over the rum that we poured into it. We ended up with a combination of hot-brewed coffee for the right amount of acidity, blended with a cold-soak coffee in distilled water for a smooth depth of flavor. Then we had to figure out how to scale it up to 200 gallons at a time—an exhausting process. But in the end, the coffee and rum paired perfectly, and we were re-energized by the sweet, caffeinated result!
